Period 9: the era we’ve all been waiting for

I don’t know about you, but for me, January 1st never truly feels like a new year. It often feels too cold and dark for the beginning of anything new. So, for me, this Lunar New Year does feel like the actual start of 2025.
Now, let’s talk about 2025.
Before we dive into the feng shui and energy of this year, I feel it’s vital to understand Period 9 in Chinese metaphysics because to truly grasp what’s ahead, we need to see the bigger picture: Period 9. Interesting fact is that this year is also a numerology of 9. So, lots of 9 vibration here.
In Chinese metaphysics, there’s a 9-period cycle spanning 180 years. Each period lasts 20 years and builds upon the one before.
Period 9, which officially began in February 2024, represents the element of Fire. It’s the last period in the 180-year cycle and will complete everything we’ve accumulated over the last 160 years.
But let’s backtrack a bit. To understand period 9, we need to understand period 8.
Period 8,which lasted from 2003 to 2024, was an Earth period.
It focused on material accumulation: wealth, property, and prosperity, especially in real estate. It was also the era of young, tech-driven energy, marked by the rise of Silicon Valley and tech giants. The period was structured, hierarchical. Think pyramid systems with a small percentage of CEOs at the top and many employees underneath. It was a time of slow building and stability.
Now, Period 9, which started 2024 - 2043, is a complete shift.
It’s a Fire period, and doesn’t stay still. It’s unpredictable, intense, and transformative. Unlike Period 8’s stability, Period 9 will be a wild card. Every thing will be in flux. We’re entering a time of purification where we all need to evolve.
Change is inevitable.
This is the last period of an era, and as such, it’s a time of reckoning. All secrets will come to light and need to be healed. Any lingering shadows within us must be released.
Period 9 is also deeply connected to middle-aged women.
Expect to see extraordinary female leaders stepping forward to heal during this time. Unlike Period 8’s hierarchical structure, Period 9 is about equality. No one person is more important than another. The internet is a great example of this energy. On the web, everyone has an equal platform and the ability to make an impact.
Looking at 2025 specifically, it’s a Green Wood Snake year.
Wood feeds fire. The Snake combines Fire element with Wood, creating a year that will fuel Fire energy within this period.
This year is just the beginning — next year will be the Fire Horse (2026), and the year after that will be the Fire Goat (2027), meaning we’re entering three consecutive years of intense Fire energy. This kind of prolonged Fire cycle is rare, and I’ve personally never experienced anything like it in my lifetime (and same for everyone here, unless you are over 180 years old).
So, what does this mean?
This year will be intense. It will test us all. Change will happen quickly, and nothing will remain static. Just think about the Snake— what does the Snake do? It sheds its skin. It moves fast. It’s flexible and highly adaptable. We are in for rapid transformation and constant evolution.
I know that many of you follow Western astrology and already see intense forecasts for this year. Well, Chinese astrology aligns. We expect to see many more fires, flooding, earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions. Another pandemic, war, and government collapsing? It all aligns with this period. All the systems that we have ever known in our lifetime will crumble. Everything will need to go through purification. Everything.
This can be daunting. I know.
But I do want to focus on the positive. As with everything, there’s always yin to the yang. So, let’s talk about the positive side of period 9.
In Period 9, we are moving from…
Profit driven jobs to purpose driven
Hierarchies to networks
Controlling to empowering
Planning less, experimenting more
Privacy to transparency
And…
People in the healing field, especially the energy healers, will soar
Massive peak in metaphysics
All secrets coming out and releasing us from the dark, heavy energies
New technology that we can’t even imagine. I personally can’t wait for free energy, away from petroleum-based energy
This period is all about people coming into their purpose and aligning with their soul calling
Community! Unlike any other element, Fire cannot exist by itself. It needs air and wood. And the same energy applies to us. We must come together and collaborate with each other and raise each other up. No more competition. That’s an old system.
So, if there’s one thing you will remember from this, please remember this.

Take one day at a time, because delaying or avoiding is no longer an option. We must all do our part to raise the vibration of this planet. We all matter, and we all have an equal part in this transformation.
My personal closing thoughts: even though Period 9 sounds very intense (I’m sure you’re aware that 2025 is already off to a crazy start) - there is no reason to fear. I’m sharing Soo Jae’s message to give greater context to the shifts we’re moving through, and help you maneuver the chaos with a higher perspective of why it’s happening. Personally, I’m super excited to see what grows from the crumbled ruins of the capitalistic system. How will our society will evolve? What new systems will we create based on equality not hierarchy? But first, the revolution (and unveiling of many secrets).
The best thing we can do is work on our own vibration. Observe, don’t absorb, release limiting beliefs, and keep showing up for yourself and your community knowing you are in control of your own reality - the light always wins. 💗
